Sign Language Interpreter

AB Staffing is looking for an experienced Sign Language Interpreter that is available for the 2025/2026 school year.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
• Certificate of completion of an interpreter training program.
• EIPA/4.0 or higher.
• Ability to interpret/transliterate in classes for assigned hearing impaired students.
• Working knowledge of the Code of Ethics of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.

Job Description:

Details of position/classroom type will differ based on school location. Recruitment Specialists can discuss in detail upon application to connect you to the classroom that best suits your experience and skillset. Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 32.5 to 40 hours per week, following the academic district calendar.

Essential Functions:

• Provide interpreting and transliterating services for hearing impaired students.
• Assist in evaluating, in conjunction with the student’s case manager, the appropriate method of interpreting for hearing impaired students in mainstream classes.
• Support classroom routines and procedures by clarifying concepts, reviewing lessons, and guiding students in completing required work.
• Coordinate tutoring or follow-up sessions with students for additional instruction.
• Interpret at special activities (e.g., captioned films, assemblies).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary:

$54 to $56/hr, approximately $1782-$1848/week for 33 hours.
