Qualifications

• NJ Standard Certificate or eligibility for Emergency certificate.
• NJ Educational Services Certificate with sign language endorsement.
• EIPA Certification 3.0+ or higher.
• Education Interpreter Training program completion per required modules.
• Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and transliterate for Deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Provide access to curriculum in line with IEP goals.
• Perform interpretation in various settings and group sizes.
• Assist teachers and reinforce learning for hearing-impaired students.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards.
