Southern Oregon ESD is seeking an Educational Assistant with Basic Sign Language to join our team serving deaf or hard of hearing students from Pre-K through 12th grade. The role supports interpreters, prepares materials, and collaborates with teachers to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Position features a 190-day academic year and hourly pay in the classified bargaining agreement range, with health insurance and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two sign language classes of increasing difficulty or equivalent experience in sign language.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the evaluation of student performance levels.
• Assist in the instruction of deaf or hard of hearing students.
• Assist in tutorial support for deaf and hard of hearing students.
• Provide basic interpretive support for sign language.
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials.
