Job summary

Spivey Services in Virginia is seeking a Sign Installation Technician to safely install, maintain, and remove traffic control signs and related devices. You will support road safety by ensuring signage is properly placed, visible, and compliant with regulations as part of a field crew.

Responsibilities include loading signs and equipment, reading control plans, operating trucks, performing inspections, and coordinating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver's license (CDL may be required or preferred).
• Experience in construction or traffic control is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret traffic control plans.

Responsibilities

• Install, remove, and maintain traffic control signs along roadways, construction zones, and worksites.
• Load, transport, and unload signs, stands, cones, and other traffic control equipment.
• Read and follow traffic control plans, layouts, and diagrams to ensure correct sign placement and sequencing.
• Safely operate company vehicles and basic equipment including trucks, trailers, and post-driving equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on signage and equipment to ensure functionality and visibility.
• Coordinate and communicate with supervisors, flaggers, and crewmembers to complete projects safely and efficiently.
• Comply with OSHA and DOT safety standards; wear PPE and respond to emergencies as required.
• Performs all other duties as required.

KeyResponsibilities

Qualifications
