Job summary

The City of Philadelphia's Office of Innovation & Technology is seeking a SIEM Engineer to plan, implement, and monitor the city’s security infrastructure to protect data, systems, and networks.

You will join a team that designs, maintains, and modernizes the municipal network, onboarding SIEM components (QRadar), managing related appliances, and developing security rules and documentation to support compliant, reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of SIEM with 1+ year IBM QRadar experience.
• Strong knowledge of Information Security and Networking.
• Familiar with CLI (command line) interfaces.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of IRS1075, HIPAA, CJIS, and similar regulations.

Responsibilities

• Onboard SIEM components as SME (QRadar).
• Manage OS and SIEM appliances (Juniper SRX, IBM QRadar).
• Create rules for compliance and auditing.
• Maintain threat lists and log sources.
• Manage SIEM accounts via AD.
• Perform upgrades and apply patches.
• Produce internal documentation.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
