Job description

Printpack in Marshall North Carolina is looking for a Shuttle Driver. The Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely operating vehicles to transport materials between locations while ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations and safety protocols. This position combines traditional truck driving responsibilities with specialized knowledge of bulk material handling and transfer operations while maintaining strict safety and regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Shipping Supervisor/Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate designated motor vehicles for transporting Printpack merchandise between locations

  • Perform and document pre-trip safety inspections on vehicles

  • Load and unload trucks, managing proper material handling procedures

  • Transport solvents according to safety protocols and regulations

  • Verify and manage documentation including manifests and Bills of Lading

  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and safety protocols

  • Ensure proper placarding of trailers and emergency response information

  • Operate vehicles safely and legally on public roads

  • Report traffic accidents or incidents involving vehicle damage promptly

  • Complete required documentation and maintain accurate records

  • Maintain current Class C Driver license.

  • Must be able to obtain a D.O.T. Health Card

  • Other tasks as assigned

Required Skill s:

  • Valid Class C Driver's License

  • No traffic violations within the past t wo ( 2 ) years.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment assessments

  • Drug screening required

  • Background check required

Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to :

  • Capability to lift and move up to 5 0 pounds

  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squat

  • Capable of sitting for extended periods of time

  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacks

  • Ability to maintain Class C Driver License

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed w hile driving . When entering the manufacturing facility , will be e xpose d to:

  • Noise levels above 8 5 dB Operation

  • Variable Temperatures

  • Operation of complex machinery

  • Solvents, fumes and inks

  • May require occasional overtime

  • May require holidays .

I f Internal :

  • Must have received a 'Performer' rating on the last review

  • Must not have received a 'Written' or higher reprimand in the last 12 months

  • Must have been in current position for at least 120 days
