Job summary

SP+ in Maine, Portland, is hiring for a shift-based parking operations role. You will perform vehicle inspections, assist customers, log trip counts, and maintain a clean, safe bus environment. The role requires a valid driver’s license, a DOT Medical Card, and flexibility for 3rd shift and weekends, with opportunities to substitute for cashiers as needed.

Qualifications

• Education level may be minimal; relevant experience or training accepted.
• Must hold a valid state driver's license with current address and clean record.
• DOT Medical Card required.
• Shift work including 3rd shift and weekends may be required.
• Basic reading/writing, simple instructions and memos.
• Basic arithmetic with money and numbers.
• Maintain neat, full uniform appearance.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, keep bus interiors clean, refuel buses and log trip counts.
• Be punctual and present for every scheduled workday, in uniform.
• Drive/deliver passengers safely and assist disabled passengers as needed.
• Maintain DMV record in good standing and report incidents to the Facility Manager.
• Assist customers and direct them to the Facility Manager when needed.
• Substitute for cashiers or valets when required and authorized.
• Be familiar with garage areas, major streets, landmarks and freeways.
• Assist with luggage or travel items, including airport shuttle duties if applicable.
• Support the Facility Manager with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness of bus interiors, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
• Be punctual and present for every scheduled workday, in uniform.
• Possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver’s license to be carried while on duty.
• Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
• Courteously assist customers by answering questions or directing them to the Facility Manager for further assistance.
• Report accidents, policy violations, safety hazards, or unusual occurrences to the Facility Manager.
• Communicate debris, water, oil spills, and similar issues to the garage office.
• Substitute for cashiers or valets when necessary and authorized.
• Have thorough knowledge of all garage areas and major streets, landmarks, and freeways in the area.
• Assist customers with luggage and other travel items, if applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at airport locations).
• Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Less than high school education or one month of related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• License: Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
• DOT Medical Card: A Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required.
• Availability to Work: Shift requirements vary by location; availability to work 3rd shift and/or weekends may be required.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to present information clearly in one-on-one situations.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic arithmetic with money and numbers as described in the posting.
• Appearance: Maintain a neat and clean appearance and be in full uniform at all times.
• Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, and handling of cash and equipment; occasional sitting, climbing or balancing; ability to lift up to 75 pounds as needed.
