Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a shuttle operator to load and unload aircraft and vehicles, sort packages, and assist with related duties in a fast-paced environment. The role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs, pass basic and recurrency training, and operate with safety in mind.

Qualifications

  • Able to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages above 50 lbs with equipment or assistance.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and able to read and speak English to understand traffic signs and communicate with officials.
  • Ability to work in a noisy, time-sensitive environment and complete required basic/re-currency training.
  • Must meet FMCSA section 391 qualifications and be licensed for the equipment assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle to load/unload aircraft and vehicles.
  • Sort packages and support loading operations as assigned.
  • Follow safety guidelines and applicable regulations during all tasks.

Performs shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle; to load and unload aircraft/vehicles; to sort packages. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person. Ability to work with power and hand tools. Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Job Conditions

Requires medical exam in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations. Non-covered safety sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Must be licensed for type of equipment assigned.

Pay: $19 - $23

Actual pay is determined by several job-related factors permitted by law and relevant to the position, including, but not limited to, experience relative to the job, tenure, market level, pay at the location for this job, performance, schedule, and work assignment. In California, the compensation listed reflects the range or rate of pay reasonably expected for this posted position upon hire. In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non-exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
