Job summary

FedEx Group in New York's Inwood area is seeking personnel to perform shuttle duties using non-articulated vehicles, loading and unloading aircraft and vehicles, and sorting packages. You will be expected to complete required training and maintain safety and efficiency in a noisy operational environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 lbs, and compliance with FMCSA regulations. Typical shifts run evenings, with weekly schedules as listed in the notice.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and move heavier packages with equipment or assistance.
  • Must meet FMCSA section 391 qualifications.
  • Able to read and speak English sufficiently for traffic signs and official directions.
  • Ability to train and complete basic/re-currency training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle.
  • Load and unload aircraft/vehicles; sort packages.

  • Work schedule reflects MONDAY–FRI or TUES–SAT with evening shifts.

Job description

Performs shuttle functions using a non-articulated vehicle; to load and unload aircraft/vehicles; to sort packages. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs. with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.

  • Ability to work with power and hand tools.

  • Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations.

  • Effectively communicate verbally in a time sensitive manner in noisy operations environment.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.


Job Conditions


  • Requires medical exam in accordance with FHWA or FAA regulations.

  • Non-covered safety sensitive position.

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

  • Must be licensed for type of equipment assigned.


Pay Transparency

$22.25 - $32.52 / hr
