Job Details

Location: Appleton, WI - Filling industrial

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the "face of Airgas," the Delivery Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently delivering compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers from an Airgas branch or plant location using a company-provided straight or box truck. The Delivery Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns compressed gas cylinders while frequently interacting with Airgas customers.

As a Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility and offers a good work/life balance. Our modern fleet is equipped with driver-friendly technology, including On Board Computers, collision avoidance tech, camera systems, and GPS navigation.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to specified destinations.
• Deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hard-goods to branch locations.
• Communicate with internal customers regarding delivery details.
• Maintain load manifests and vehicle documents accurately.
• Keep records such as DOT Driver's Log and vehicle logs according to regulations.
• Pick up empty cylinders and return them for refilling, following all regulations.
• Operate warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Perform pre and post-trip vehicle inspections and document deficiencies.
• Maintain communication with supervisors for delivery instructions.
• Follow geographic directions and read maps.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs if needed.
• Comply with all policies and DOT requirements.
• Assist with other duties as needed, including inside branch service.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or willingness to obtain).
• At least one year of experience driving a Class A Tractor Trailer under DOT requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record and current Medical Examiner's Card.
• Ability to read MSDS and lift 25-75 lbs regularly, up to 125 lbs with equipment.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure, with occasional overtime.
