Job summary

US FOODS® is seeking a Shuttle Truck Driver in Mississippi to shuttle trailers between distribution centers and shuttle yards. You will switch loaded trailers with empties, perform safety checks, and log time using the electronic system.

Must hold a valid CDL A with endorsements, a Double Endorsement, and FMCSA Clearinghouse registration. Typical schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 5pm until complete, with base pay of $25.55/hour plus mileage and potential incentives.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid CDL A issued by state of residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualified.
  • Minimum six months commercial truck driving experience or three months foodservice/food and beverage truck delivery experience.
  • Double Endorsement License Required.
  • Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is required by the Department of Transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Check Route Numbers and Account Numbers for All Assigned Deliveries
  • Check Customer Invoices of Product That Has Been Loaded
  • Move Tractor to The Loading Dock to Attach Pre-Loaded Trailer And/or Attach 2nd Trailer with The Dolly
  • Hook trailers carefully making sure all connections are correct
  • Use Electronic Time Keeping System to Log in Time at Stop Site
  • Check for Returns and Paperwork on Trailers Shuttling Back to The Distribution Center
  • Performing Safety Checks on The Truck and Trailer
  • Fuel (As Required by The Division); Unhooking and Secure Trailer; Parking and Securing Tractor and Hand Truck

Role Overview

As a US FOODS® Shuttle Truck Driver you will be operating a tractor-trailer (potentially doubles) between US FOODS® distribution centers and shuttle yards. Switching out loaded trailers with empty trailers, safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 5pm - until complete.

Base Pay: $25.55 plus mileage.

No overnights.

Other Requirements

Registering to the FMCSA Clearinghouse is a requirement by the Department of Transportation. All Truck Drivers must visit the Clearinghouse website and register to the new database. The Clearinghouse is a secure online database that provides real-time information about commercial driver's license (CDL) and commercial learner's permit (CLP) holders' drug and alcohol program violations. If you have not registered to the FMCSA database, please note registration is required.

Compensation & Incentives

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $25.55 and $25.55.

This role will also receive incentive compensation.
