Job summary

US Foods is seeking a professional driver to operate tractor trailers, delivering meats, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods to and from remote dispatch sites. You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and adhere to safety standards.

Requirements include a valid CDL Class A with endorsements, a minimum of 6 months driving experience, and comfort with overnight schedules. Some locations may require a doubles endorsement; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must hold CDL Class A with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
  • Minimum 6 months commercial driving experience required.
  • Doubles endorsement preferred and beneficial for certain locations.
  • Must be comfortable working overnight and able to operate manual transmission if required.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English; understand highway signs and report information accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive tractors, transporting products to and from remote dispatch sites.
  • May be required to perform backhaul or delivery duties as needed.
  • Conduct all pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment and report defects.

Primary function of this position is to drive tractor trailers containing various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, dry goods, etc.) to and from remote dispatch sites.

Main Ingredients of the Job
  • Safely drive trucks to and from remote dispatch sites
  • May be called upon to perform duties of Backhaul or Delivery Driver
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

  • Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions required
What You Bring To The Table
  • Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • 6 months commercial driving experience required
  • Doubles endorsement required AND minimum 6 months driving with doubles endorsements preferred
  • Must be comfortable working overnight
  • Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
  • Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $20.40 and $33.00 per hour. As applicable, this role will also receive component pay (i.e., mileage, stops).
