Job summary

Ascension Living in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Transportation team member to safely transport adult day center participants to appointments and community outings. You will assist participants entering and exiting the vehicle, secure mobility devices, and maintain logs and vehicle cleanliness.

This full-time, day-shift role requires a Driver's License, BLS or Heart Saver AED, and education equivalency. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Driver's license required or to be obtained before hire date.
• Certificates such as BLS Provider or Heart Saver AED within 30 days of hire.
• Chauffeur and commercial license experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport adult day center participants to and from the center, appointments, and outings.
• Assist participants entering and exiting the vehicle and securing mobility devices.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform daily inspections, and log transportation activities.
• Support route adjustments while ensuring safety and customer service.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Safely transport adult day center participants to and from the center, medical appointments, and community outings while maintaining reliable, on-time schedules.
• Provide hands‑on assistance by helping participants safely enter and exit the vehicle, securing wheelchairs and mobility devices, and ensuring a comfortable, compassionate ride.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness, safety, and accurate transportation logs while promptly reporting maintenance needs or incidents.
• Support the transportation team by adapting routes as needed, following all traffic laws and safety regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service to participants and caregivers.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Chauffeur preferred.
• Drivers License specializing in Commercial preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
