Description

*This position starts between $18.03 and $20.29/hour.

The Shuttle/Mini Bus Driver will operate Water of Life vehicles to transport guests from remote parking lots using mini buses/shuttles and trams within designated areas. Responsibilities include practicing safe driving, ensuring passenger safety, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and completing driver logs. Shuttles operate during church service times, including Saturday night, Sunday morning and evening, and weeknights. Shifts are typically 2 hours, with Sunday morning shifts lasting 4-6 hours. Drivers may work up to 20 hours weekly, with schedules rotated for preferred one week on, one week off rotations.

Qualifications

• License and Certification: Valid California Class B Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement or ability to obtain prior to hire. Training and testing support available.

• Experience: At least 1 year driving para-transit buses, minibuses, or vans preferred.

• Driving Record: DMV printout with no more than 2 points, issued within 30 days of hire.

• Medical: Valid Medical Certificate or ability to obtain one prior to hire.

• Age: Minimum 25 years old due to insurance restrictions.

• Knowledge: California Motor Vehicle Code, traffic regulations, safe driving practices.

• Skills: Safe operation of shuttle/tram, passenger assistance, effective communication, reading maps, radio use.

• Spiritual Expectations: Maintain confidentiality, resolve issues biblically, be a Christian role model, live a Biblical lifestyle, and be or become a member of Water of Life Community Church.

• Physical & Environmental: Ability to sit for long periods, see and hear within normal ranges, handle vehicle controls, and work in various weather conditions.

• DMV Pull Notice: Enrollment required to monitor driving record. Use of church vehicles governed by church regulations.

Note: Candidates must pass DOT-mandated alcohol and drug tests, including post-accident, suspicion, random, return-to-work, and follow-up testing.
