Job summary

UPMC Corporate Supply Chain is hiring a Shuttle Bus Operator Trainee in Pittsburgh to support employee transport within city routes. The role includes in-house CDL training to attain Class B license and Passenger Endorsement, then transitioning to a Shuttle Bus Operator role.

Trainees must meet CDL requirements, participate in DOT/FMCSA compliance, and demonstrate strong customer service. Successful candidates will join a union-friendly environment with safety-focused operations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B and Passenger Endorsement required within 6 months of hire
• CDL Learner's Permits within 10 days of employment
• DOT Medical Card clearance (before start date)
• Cleared to drive per FMCSA Clearing House (before start date)
• ACT 34 clearance (before start date)
• Good driving record and valid license required
• Ability to adapt in a busy environment
• Strong customer service background

Responsibilities

• Learn ridership information and report per company processes
• Maintain route standards and follow designated routes
• Learn DOT compliance requirements and FMCSA regulations
• Develop positive relationships with riders and coworkers
• Provide high levels of customer service to passengers
• Demonstrate safe driving and working practices
• Maintain bus cleanliness and fuel vehicles as directed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
