Job summary

Penn State University is seeking a Part-Time Campus Shuttle Driver to operate shuttle buses and vans on established routes within University Park and State College. You will assist passengers, provide campus directions, and report vehicle issues as needed.

Responsibilities include pre-trip checks, radio communications, and maintaining records. A valid Pennsylvania CDL with Passenger Endorsement (P) and no Air Brake Restriction (L) are required, with background checks as part of employment.

Qualifications

• Requires commercial English, grammar and arithmetic skills for pass/fail calculations, data entry, and passenger information.
• Must possess Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement (P) and no Air Brake Restriction (L).
• 6–9 months of relevant driving or shuttle experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive shuttle services on established routes and schedules for University Park and State College areas.
• Check passengers for valid passes and assist with entering/exiting vehicles safely.
• Provide campus directions and information as requested.
• Operate two-way radio to report issues and follow supervisor instructions.
• Inspect vehicles for fuel, tires, fluids, and general operation; report needs.
• Perform housekeeping to keep interiors clean and ready for passengers.
• Dispatch from and return vehicles to Fleet parking as assigned.
• Maintain daily time sheets and defect records as required.
