The position is scheduled for weekends and holidays, with weather-dependent shifts and a requirement to arrive at the station on time for scheduled shifts.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Bus Driver License with passenger endorsement.
• Ability to safely navigate traffic and parked cars.
• Ability to put chains on a bus.
• Ability to drive in extreme weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the shuttle bus on continuous loops through designated parking areas and guest pick-up/drop-off locations.
• Safely transport guests, ensuring orderly boarding and unloading.
• Greet guests, answer general questions, provide directions, and maintain a friendly atmosphere.
• Drive cautiously and remain alert to pedestrians, vehicles, parking attendants, and changing weather and road conditions.
• Monitor traffic flow and communicate delays, congestion, or operational concerns to management.
• Complete required vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues, damage, or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle and monitor fuel levels.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, passenger counts, and required inspections.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, resort safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Report accidents, incidents, and guest concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with other reasonable duties related to parking operations and guest services as assigned.

Job Summary

Bear Valley Mountain Resort shuttle drivers play an important role in creating a positive guest experience by safely transporting guests between designated parking areas and resort drop-off locations. Drivers operate continuous loops throughout the parking lots, greeting guests, answering general questions, and providing directions as needed. A friendly attitude, safe driving practices, and awareness of traffic and weather conditions are essential to this role.

This role is weekends and holidays only.

Work Schedules

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – especially the holiday periods in December and the months of January and February – you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snow packed, and icy road.

Working Conditions

At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.

You will be required to provide some items as part of your job.

The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
