Job summary

Bear Valley in California is seeking an HR Administration Assistant to support our Human Resources department. You will be the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external partners, and you will maintain personnel records and update internal databases.

This seasonal, full-time role requires experience in HR or business administration, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while complying with labor laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-employment processes and onboarding.
• Support orientation and training programs for new and returning employees.
• Internal employee communication and information dissemination.
• Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping.
• Assist with organization of international students employment & activity scheduling.
• Assist with management of employee housing.
• Support recruiting efforts using applicant tracking software system.
• Support employee relations, incentives, and rewards programs.
• Coordinate production and printing for all HR materials (manuals, forms, etc.).
• Lead company uniform inventory and distribution for seasonal staff.
• Provide support to company events and meetings (set up, materials, etc.).
• Answer telephone calls, record messages, sort and distribute mail and emails.
• Greet visitors to HR/Main office and provide information, guest service and assistance.
• Support processing of employee passes, tickets, employee housing deposits etc.
• Responsible for appearance and cleanliness and functionality of the main office area.
• Other tasks and projects as assigned.

Job Summary

Your main administrative duties include maintaining personnel records, managing HR documents (e.g. employment records and onboarding) and updating internal databases. Our ideal candidate has experience with HR or business administration and can juggle various administrative tasks in a timely manner.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our HR department supports our employees while conforming to labor laws.

WorkSchedules

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role intheworkscheduling of Bear Valley employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week,including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – especially the holiday periods in December andthemonthsofJanuaryandFebruary–youmaybeexpectedtoworksix(6)daysa week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arriveatyourdesignatedworkstationat the scheduled time.Keep in mind that you will oftenberequiredtodriveonhilly,snowpacked, and icy road.

WorkingConditions

Atanytimeduringtheskiseason,BearValleyemployeesareoftenrequiredtoperformtheir tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.

You will be required to provide some items as part of your job.

The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
