Job summary

Eckerd Connects operates the Denison Job Corps program and is seeking a Shuttle Bus Driver to provide transportation for students and support center operations. You will shuttle students to vocational sites, medical centers, and recreational activities, while ensuring safety and timely reporting.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months work-related experience preferred.
  • Valid State driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
  • CDL with passenger endorsement in the state of employment preferred.
  • Must pass a drug screen per policy.
  • Nationwide criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Transports students by van, shuttle bus, and car to various sites.
  • Inspects and reports on vehicle condition.
  • Maintains trip reports for vehicle use.
  • Performs alarm and patrol duties to protect people and property when not driving.
  • Role is safety-sensitive and requires pre-employment drug/alcohol testing.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Position
Hourly Rate: $17.50 - $19.50
Duties and Responsibilities
  • The Shuttle Bus Driver responsible for supplying transportation services to students and performing general maintenance duties throughout the center.
  • The Shuttle Bus Driver transports students by van, shuttle bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
  • Inspects and reports on the mechanical condition of vehicles.
  • Maintains accurate and complete trip reports of each use of any vehicle.
  • When not performing the duties of the Shuttle Bus Driver will perform alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Six months work-related experience preferred.
  • Valid State driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Preferred Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.
