Job summary

EMR USA Metal Recycling in Kentucky is seeking a Production Plant Operator to keep the shredder running safely and efficiently. You will operate and monitor the shredder, troubleshoot issues, support maintenance, and assist with daily cleanup in a hands-on role.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and able to make quick decisions. You will work 55-70 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, early shift, with overtime opportunities and employer benefits including health insurance,

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, industrial equipment or conveyors.
• Ability to operate skid loader, forklift and other equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand for extended periods.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and multitasking in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Operate the shredder with hand controls and monitor cameras and system alerts.
• Diagnose shredder system errors and minimize downtime.
• Support maintenance technicians with routine and major repairs.
• Maintain radio communication with operators and maintenance staff to ensure safety.
• Assist with daily shredder startup and shutdown procedures.
• Complete daily cleanup and keep the yard organized, including shutdown days.
