Job summary

Vital Records Control Companies (VRC) is seeking a Shred Specialist to support branch operations by loading wastepaper into shredders, unloading materials, staging, and maintaining a clean, safe work area. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to NAID standards to ensure secure shredding services.

The position involves operating shredding and baling machinery, performing routine maintenance, and assisting with off-site shredding programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Two years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Six months of forklift driving experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of forklift truck driving and maintenance.
• Must lift and manage heavy objects; physically able to lift 75 pounds repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in unloading and staging of shredded paper, media, and product.
• Operate and maintain shredding and baling machinery.
• Ensure bales are staged or loaded for shipment as required.
• Support off-site shredding programs as needed.
• Operate forklifts and perform preventive maintenance on them.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area per standards.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance (weekly, monthly, yearly).
• Uphold security and safety responsibilities related to operation.
• Other duties as assigned.
