Legaleagle, a storied legal-focused YouTube channel, is seeking an agile showrunner/EP to help conceive and launch a new true crime channel.

The role entails overseeing all production, shaping the channel’s identity, writing monologues, coaching on-screen talent, and driving growth across videos, shorts, and social clips. The ideal candidate has cable news or high-volume news YouTube experience and is highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all processes related to creation and rollout of the new channel
• Conceptualizing and producing the channel’s content (daily live-to-tape talk show, evergreen/true crime pieces)
• Overseeing production of videos, shorts, and vertical cuts for social media
• Developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy
• Overseeing packaging, community/audience relationship, and channel identity
• Developing, directing, coaching, and empowering on-screen talent
• Writing host monologues and voice-overs as needed
• Managing and running a team of producers, editors, writers/researchers, and freelancers
• Reporting directly to the company’s senior executives and stakeholders

Job description

We’re a storied Legal/Law focused YouTube channel looking for an agile Swiss-Army Knife showrunner/EP with experience in cable news, news-oriented YouTube/podcasting, or true crime, to help create and run a new second channel project in the true crime space. The showrunner will be part of the channel’s conception and launch, and will serve as the core vision-keeper and “conductor of the orchestra.”

Core responsibilities include:

• Overseeing all processes related to creation and rollout of the new channel
• Conceptualizing and producing the channel’s content (e.g. a daily live-to-tape talk show covering biggest true crime news; “evergreen” Bodycam compilations, true crime stories, trial breakdowns, etc.)
• Overseeing production of various videos, shorts, and vertical cut-downs for social media
• Developing and executing a comprehensive growth strategy
• Overseeing all packaging, community/audience relationship, and channel identity
• Developing, directing, coaching, and empowering on-screen talent
• Writing host monologs and voice-overs as needed
• Managing and running a team of producers, editors, writers/researchers, and various freelancers & permalancers
• Reporting directly to the company’s senior executives and stakeholders

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience in cable news, or high-volume news oriented YouTube/podcast content
• Is process-oriented and has experience overseeing complex projects
• Is fast, hyper-organized, self-directed, team-oriented, and works well under multiple deadlines
• Is knowledgeable in latest video production tech and methodology
• Is familiar with the Adobe creative suite
