Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a maintenance crafts specialist at its Sierrita operations near Tucson, AZ. The role focuses on mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

Steps include welding when needed, operating forklifts/cranes, maintaining clean work areas and following all safety procedures. A minimum of one year in mechanical maintenance or an education/experience mix is required.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in mechanical/maintenance crafts or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and pass safety-related assessments.

Responsibilities

• May perform system replacement and repairs on electrical, hydraulic systems; and component replacement and repairs on dippers, handles, swing, propel, crowd and hoist transmissions, hoist cables, GET, drill bits and related equipment.
• Perform mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance.
• Responsible for maintaining work orders, a clean and safe work area and performing work area inspections.
• May be required to perform basic welding tasks, such as oxy-acetylene cutting and ARC welding.
• May operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment.
• Perform other duties as required.
