Job summary

Carnival Cruise Line in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area seeks a Technical Operations Manager to lead shoreside technical operations for assigned vessels, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective performance.

You will oversee maintenance planning, budgeting, dry-dock activities, and regulatory compliance. You will direct a multidisciplinary vessel support team, coordinate with shipboard and shoreside stakeholders, implement maintenance systems, and drive continuous improvement to maximize

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a marine/technical discipline is required.
• Strong knowledge of marine engineering systems, vessel maintenance, and shipboard operations.
• Solid understanding of international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) and USCG requirements.
• Experience in technical budgeting, cost control, and lifecycle asset management.
• Proven project management skills coordinating dry docks, major repairs, or capital projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency with CMMS tools (Infoship or similar).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the designated shoreside technical operations leader for assigned vessels, directing cross-functional support to maintain safe and reliable operations.
• Lead long-term technical operations strategies, including annual budget planning, lifecycle maintenance, and dry dock scope development.
• Act as the single point of contact for technical matters, communicating updates, regulatory changes, and priorities.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute vessel maintenance, inspections, certifications, conversions, and dry dock activities within budget and standards.
• Manage budgets for vessels, including forecasting and approvals for equipment, spares, services, and consumables.
• Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
• Ensure vessel compliance with Flag State, Port State Control, USCG, and other regulatory bodies.
