Job summary

Polynae is seeking an experienced Shopify developer to build, maintain, and improve our storefront. You will work with the Senior Product Designer to ship experiences that convert visitors into customers, handling ongoing storefront development, app integrations, and design-system updates.

This is a long-term contract role (~20 hours/week) with a flexible scope, requiring 4+ years in Shopify development and a strong portfolio of live stores.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Shopify development experience.
• 2+ years on Shopify 2.0 / Online Store 2.0.
• Experience with Shopify Plus, checkout extensions, or Hydrogen is a plus.
• Ability to work independently on a contract basis with regular check-ins.
• A portfolio of live stores you can point to.

Responsibilities

• Implement new pages, sections, and design system updates from Figma.
• Integrate and maintain third-party apps (subscription, reviews, analytics, CRO tools).
• Build and optimize the quiz flow, checkout extensions, and account experiences.
• Monitor site speed, accessibility, and Core Web Vitals, and fix what needs fixing.
• Partner with the Senior Product Designer on technical feasibility and tradeoffs.
• Document what you build so the next person can pick it up.
