Job summary

Design Solutions and Integration is an employee-owned company providing automation, electrical, and mechanical services to major energy partners. We are seeking a welder to apply suitable welding and cutting processes to join, fabricate, and repair materials and to operate and maintain welding tools safely and accurately.

The role requires the ability to lift 50 lbs+, stand for long periods, and read blueprints with basic math.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 3 years of welding experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50lbs+ and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to read blueprints and measure with a tape.

Responsibilities

• Travel when needed for jobs.
• Load and unload materials from trucks or storage areas.
• Operate metalworking equipment like shears, saws, and grinders.
• Prepare materials for fabrication, including cutting, grinding, or deburring.
• Fit parts to be welded and join using appropriate welding process.
• Clean finished parts and maintain equipment.
• Maintain a safe work environment and teamwork with the crew.

This position will be responsible for applying appropriate welding and cutting processes to join, fabricate, and repair material to create a variety of parts. The welder is responsible for operating and maintaining welding tools and equipment in a safe and accurate manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials 50lbs+
• Standing for extended periods, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Use hand tools and operate machinery
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work safely and accurately
• Ability to follow direction and work independently under minimal supervision
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 years of experience (preferred)

Job Responsibilities

• Travel when needed for jobs
• Loading and unloading materials from trucks or storage areas
• Operating metalworking equipment like shears, saws, and grinders
• Preparing materials for fabrication, such as cutting, grinding, or deburring
• Fitting parts to be welded
• Join parts using the appropriate welding process
• Clean finished parts
• Work together with other team members as needed
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment
• Keeping the shop clean and organized
• Maintaining a safe work environment
• Non CDL driving with and without trailer (preferred)

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities

• Blueprint reading
• Ability to do basic math and read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch
• General knowledge of equipment and operations including welding, plasma cutting, oxy fuel torch, drilling, punching holes, bending, and metal band saw
• Ability to operate forklift (will train)
• Ability to follow instructions
• Adhering to safety protocols and using protective equipment
• Ensure accuracy and quality
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlinesWillingness to learn new techniques and technologies

Salary

$28 - $32 an hour

Schedule

Monday – Thursday 6:30AM – 5:00PM, some Fridays as overtime 6:30AM-5:00PM
