Job summary

Aggreko in Miami, FL is seeking a Technician 2 - HVAC / Temperature Control (Shop) to support the Central Repair Shop. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment, troubleshoot shop systems, and support overtime/weekend work as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 4–7 years of commercial HVAC experience, and the ability to read schematics and calculate tonnage or kW requirements; valid driver’s license and possibly TWIC/DOT card may be required.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience on commercial HVAC equipment.
• Experience calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW, and reading schematics.
• May require TWIC or valid DOT medical card.

What you’ll do:

• You’ll be based out of Miami, FL service center and can expect to work in the Central Repair Shop.
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

You are:

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• 4-7 years of experience working on commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• You will either be out on your own or teamed up with another technician(s) to set up and operate equipment at the shop.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other essential job requirements:

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices.
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level.
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders.
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat.
