Job summary

Xylem is seeking a Shop Technician Level 1 to join our Malvern, PA team. The role focuses on evaluating, repairing, and testing submersible wastewater pumps (Flygt) at branch locations, with emphasis on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting in a busy shop environment.

You will operate industrial equipment, use hand and power tools, and maintain accurate records in Xylem’s work-order system. Travel may be required; a strong foundation in basic technical skills is expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of technical work experience; 1 year preferred.
• Electrically and mechanically inclined with troubleshooting ability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and using smart devices.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, repair, and conduct mechanical and electrical testing of submersible wastewater pumps.
• Operate industrial equipment in a shop environment such as forklift, overhead cranes.
• Work with company hand and power tools and maintain records in the work-order system.
• Create and maintain a safe, organized working environment and protect company property.
