Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Shop Technician II in the Instrumentation and Control area at the New Stanton, PA facility. You will assemble, troubleshoot, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components per engineering instructions, using hand tools, power tools and soldering, handling multiple assignments to support assembly, repair, testing and refurbishment.

You will report to the Assistant Area Manager for I&CE Operations and work on site five days per week, performing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills.
• Preference for ANSI N45.2.6 inspection certification.
• Preference for US Department of Labor Journeyman certifications.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend semi-complex mechanical and/or electrical drawings, codes, schematics, manuals, blueprints, Bills of Material and procedures. Data must be recorded accurately.
• Apply knowledge of advanced electronic theory and components.
• Operate electrical/electronic test equipment and interpret results.
• Plan, lay out, assemble or fabricate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic equipment.
• Coach, train, or mentor others at an equal or lower level of position.
• Team with planners and supervisor to develop schedules with resource milestones and budget goals for order/project.
• Develop, maintain, and modify equipment maintenance and mobilization plans.
• Exercise and promote team building skills with peers, supervisors, contractors, customers, and other departments.
• Follow up quickly and consistently to bring issues to closure.
• Proactively resolve problems and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
