Job summary

Voith Group is hiring a Shop Technician I for the 2nd shift in York, PA. This onsite role focuses on the assembly and testing of machinery to Voith specifications, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, measuring, assembling gearboxes and pumps, and assisting with the repair and refurbishment of customer-owned equipment. The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related industrial experience.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of related experience with industrial equipment or automotive mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and repair machinery including gearboxes, rail couplers, and pumps.
• Read drawings and document precision measurements.
• Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools.
• Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues.
• Perform tasks accurately and on schedule.
• Adhere to quality workmanship standards.
• Participate in safety and process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Responsible for the assembly and testing of new products according to Voith specifications, ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and productivity standards. The role also supports the inspection, repair, and refurbishment of customer-owned equipment when required. Technicians follow detailed work instructions, perform mechanical assembly tasks, verify product quality, and contribute to meeting production schedules and customer delivery commitments. Strong communication, teamwork, and flexibility are important for success in this role.

We are willing and eager to train candidates with demonstrated mechanical experience in automotive, manufacturing, maintenance, or similar hands‑on technical fields.

The hours for this position will be Monday-Thursday (Ten hour shift 8pm - 6am).

The hourly rate for 2nd shift is $27.50 - $30.00.

Your 30 minute lunch will be paid!

Responsibilities:

• Assembly and repair of machinery, including gearboxes, rail couplers, fluid couplings, torque converters, automatic transmissions, pumps, and others
• Read drawings and document precision measurements
• Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
• Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues
• Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate fashion
• Understand and apply quality of workmanship required for each job
• Participate in a culture of continuous improvement in both safety and processes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of related experience with industrial equipment / auto mechanic

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
• Must have manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
• Must wear gloves and ear protection.
