Job summary

Voith Turbo in York, PA is hiring for a Shop Technician I. This day-shift position focuses on industrial painting, assembly and our precision manufacturing process. You will work in a safe, climate-controlled shop and use a variety of hand, electrical and air tools.

Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 6:00am to 4:30pm. Competitive pay from $24.00 to $26.00 per hour, full benefits and a generous 401(k) match. High school diploma or GED required; 1-3 years related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1-3 years of related experience with industrial painting or assembly.
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
• Mechanical assembly skills and proficiency with shop tools.
• Strong organizational skills and problem-solving ability.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and setup.

Responsibilities

• Paint preparation, industrial painting and light mechanical assembly work.
• Repairs and assembly using various power and hand tools.
• Read blueprints for assembly processes and maintain accuracy.
• Operate machines with setup, adjustments and maintenance.
• Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks and measuring tools as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues.

DAY SHIFT

The hours for this position will be Tuesday-Friday (Ten hour shift 6:00am - 4:30pm).

This position pays from $24.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Industrial manufacturing painting experience: HVLP spray guns, gravity-feed guns, cup guns, p-mix system.
• Color Matching and paint mixing
• Paint prep, Industrial painting and some light mechanical assembly work
• Repairs and assembly, utilizing Various power, and hand tools
• Blueprint reading for assembly processes
• Micrometers, calipers, and tape measure
• Machine operation (Set up, adjustments and maintenance)
• Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
• Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues

Required Skills/Abilities:

• High School diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of related experience with industrial painting
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
• Mechanical assembly skills.
• Proficiency with hand, electrical and air operated shop tools
• Knowledge of shop practices, machines and related equipment
• Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
• Analyze problems and develop solutions independently or with teams
• Basic computer skills

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
• Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
• Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
• Must wear gloves and ear protection.
