Job Summary
This position involves repairing customer‑owned equipment to Voith specifications by disassembling and inspecting units returned for repair or overhaul. The technician reassembles units with repaired or replaced parts to meet customer deadlines, ensuring safety, quality and productivity standards. Communication and flexibility are key attributes.
Hours: Tuesday‑Friday or Monday‑Thursday, 10‑hour shift 8 pm – 6 am. A $2 per hour shift differential applies for the second shift.

Responsibilities
- Assembly and repair of machinery, including gearboxes, rail couplers, fluid couplings, torque converters, automatic transmissions, pumps, and others
- Read drawings and document precision measurements
- Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
- Troubleshoot equipment reliability issues
- Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate fashion
- Understand and apply required workmanship quality for each job
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement in safety and processes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1‑3 years of related experience with industrial equipment or automotive mechanics
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment
- Mechanical assembly skills
- Proficiency with hand, electrical and air‑operated shop tools
- Knowledge of shop practices, machines and related equipment
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
- Problem‑solving skills, able to develop solutions independently or with teams
- Basic computer skills
- Painting experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and repetitive tasks
- Lift up to 30 pounds at a time
- Manual dexterity to assemble products or machines as directed
- Excellent hand‑eye coordination
- Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components
- Must wear gloves and ear protection
