Job summary

Voith Turbo is seeking a Shop Technician II for 2nd shift in York, PA. You will repair customer-owned equipment by disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling with repaired or replaced parts to meet customer deadlines, while prioritizing safety, quality, and productivity.

Hours are Monday–Thursday, 8pm–6am, with an hourly rate of $26.00–$28.00 and a paid 30-minute lunch. Candidates with automotive or industrial maintenance experience are encouraged to apply; training is available.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
• Mechanical assembly skills.
• Proficiency with hand, electrical and air operated shop tools.
• Knowledge of shop practices, machines and related equipment.
• Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assembly and repair of machinery, including gearboxes, rail couplers, fluid couplings, torque converters, automatic transmissions, pumps, and others
• Read drawings and document precision measurements
• Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
• Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues
• Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate fashion
• Understand and apply quality of workmanship required for each job
• Participate in a culture of continuous improvement in both safety and processes
• Other duties as assigned
