Job summary

ChampionX in Odessa, TX is seeking a Gas Lift Shop Technician. You will diagnose, repair and maintain gas lift equipment, ensuring reliability and supporting shop activities.

This hands-on role requires 2 years of mechanical shop experience, proficiency with hand tools, and a valid driver's license. Overtime and Saturdays may be required; safety is a priority and you will work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of mechanical shop experience required.
• Experience using hand tools.
• Read, understand and speak English.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• This safety-sensitive role may be subject to drug testing.
• Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required.

Responsibilities

• Attend to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and oversee equipment improvements and time critical repairs.
• Maintain preventative maintenance and breakdown reports and part usage records.
• Investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist shop on problem identification and equipment issue resolution.
• Evaluate non-conforming products for rework, repair or scrap.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and use CMMS as needed.
• Coordinate and direct contractors for specialized repairs and installations; maintain relations with customers and contractors.
• Maintain toolkit, supplies, and required tool inventory.
• Conduct facility and equipment inspections as part of Emergency Response Procedures.

We are looking for a Gas Lift Shop Technician located in Odessa, TX. The Shop Technician will be hands-on mechanical specialist responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining gas lift equipment, ensuring operational reliability, and supporting overall shop activities. What You Will Do:

• Attend to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and oversee equipment improvements and time critical repairs.
• Maintain preventative maintenance and breakdown report and part usage records.
• Investigate the root cause and recommend course of action.
• Assists shop on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair.
• Evaluate non-conforming products to determine appropriate requirements to rework, repair, or scrap items.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and may use a computerized maintenance management system.
• Coordinate and direct contractors for specialized repairs and installations; maintain good working relations with internal customers and contractors.
• Maintain toolkit, supplies, and requisite tool inventory.
• Conduct facility and equipment inspections as a part of the Emergency Response Procedures.
• Lead and implement Lean 5S + 1 project as a role model.
• Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Utilize hand or power tools and heavy equipment, such as, forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe, reliable manner.
• Assist with inventory counts of current stock levels to identify potential shortages or excesses.
• Complete inspections, repair of parts and routine maintenance on capillary trailers.
• Deliver parts to technicians on job sites.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED
• 2 years of mechanical shop experience
• Experience using hand tools
• Valid drivers license
• This safety-sensitive role may be subject to employer or customer drug testing
• Read, understand and speak English
• Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as required
