Job summary

J. F. Ahern Co. is seeking a summer Shop Helper for the Madison Regional office to assist in shop operations and fabrication tasks. The role involves supporting the Shop Manager, coordinating workflow, and delivering materials to job sites in the Madison region.

Responsibilities include basic tool maintenance, receiving and shipping, pipe fabrication for the field, and regular communication with field and office teams. A valid driver's license and ability to pass a DOT medical exam are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a shop environment.
• Comfortable driving a forklift.
• Mechanically inclined and able to operate and maintain tools.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on delegated tasks under the Shop Manager.
• Perform basic maintenance on tools, equipment and machinery; receive/ship materials; maintain inventory storage.
