Job summary

Ziegler CAT is seeking an Ag/Construction Technician at our Fergus Falls, MN branch to diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including loaders, excavators, dozers and AG machinery. The role requires strong troubleshooting, hands-on mechanical skills, and a sense of urgency to deliver timely service.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical college degree in diesel technology or related field; or High school diploma/GED and 2 years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 2+ years of relevant ag diesel engine/equipment repair experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar is a plus but not required
• Working knowledge of repairing a variety of agricultural equipment; ag technology experience is a definite plus
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to write and communicate effectively and interact with supervisors, customers and team members
• Basic computer skills to document work orders and utilize online diagnostic systems
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment, compact equipment, aerial equipment and paving equipment
• as well as ag equipment from application, tillage, planting to harvest equipment
• Document work orders in a complete and timely manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Work safely at all times, following company policies, procedures and standards
• Work collaboratively and assist other technicians as needed regarding troubleshooting repairs
• Participate in ongoing training to enhance mechanical skills and grow product knowledge

Ziegler CAT has an Ag/Construction Technician position working on Caterpillar heavy construction and ag equipment. The pay range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00. Starting wage is dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay range may vary by 10% depending upon the applicant’s location.
