Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Shop Technician 1- Power in Baltimore, MD to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC equipment and oil-free air compressors at the Baltimore service center.

You will troubleshoot equipment, adhere to safety standards, and participate in robust technical training programs, with opportunities for overtime, a bonus and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working on power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, reading schematics.
• May be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, HVAC equipment and or oil free air compressors.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures at the shop.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

• High School diploma/GED
• 4+ years of experience working on power generators and or commercial HVAC equipment, performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics.
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
