Job summary

NOVA Corporation (NOV) is seeking a hands-on technician in Pleasanton, TX to select and assemble foundations, pumps, and related equipment for specific jobs. You will hook up tubing and hydraulics, diagnose equipment issues, and operate testing gear for visual and dimensional inspection.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, 1+ years’ related experience, basic electrical/hydraulic knowledge, and forklift/crane operation skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical problem-solving ability and troubleshooting is a must.
  • Knowledge in blueprint reading and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators).
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to safely drive/operate a forklift and operate a crane.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Knowledge of tubing hook-ups to spools and reels, hydraulic hook-ups to reels and foundations.
  • Identify and communicate problems with reels, equipment, and spools.
  • Operate and maintain testing equipment for visual and dimensional inspection (Mic's).
  • Complete all report forms for quality assurance shipping and receiving as required.
  • Make minor repairs to equipment, hose fittings, counters, rollers, etc.
  • Execute procedures for used tubing and waste fluid.
  • Execute tube cutting procedures and use cutting torch equipment.
  • Be forklift ground guide, crane rigging, qualified to operate forklift up to 70,000 lbs.
  • Comply with NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, safe work habits.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

Education & Experience Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Mechanical problem-solving ability and troubleshooting is a must.
  • Knowledge in blueprint reading and precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, indicators and various transfer gages).
  • Must be competent in the use of basic hand tools and other tools such as torque wrenches, impact guns, hydraulic torque machines, and air tools.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Must be able to safely drive/operate a forklift and must be able to safely operate a crane.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
Job Requirements
  • Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules on short notice.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

  • Factory environment with large range in temperature changes.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend/stoop, push/pull and repetitive movement up to 12 hours daily.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
