Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Shop Technician 2 - Product Assurance in New Stanton, PA to apply basic manufacturing theory and perform inspections, examinations and tests per documented procedures and industry practices.

You will report to the Area Manager, be 100% onsite, and use tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM, and SAP knowledge to verify readiness and quality of components, aligning with ANSI standards and company processes for safe energy solutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5.
• Certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6 preferred, but can be certified after hire.
• Identify specialized education, training, or experience.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, including GD&T.
• Understand procedures and specifications.
• Use basic inspection hand tools such as micrometers and calipers.
• Knowledge of CMM and Optical Inspection equipment.
• SAP knowledge.
• Inspect components using an open setup with minimal instructions.
• Perform tasks outside of quality, such as receiving material, packaging, and shipping coordination.
• Determine if calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is current.
• Verify that MTE is in proper condition and procedures approved.

About the role

As a Shop Technician 2 - Product Assurance, you will apply knowledge of basic manufacturing theory and components. Perform inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices.

You will report to the Area Manager and be located at New Stanton, PA. You will be 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, including GD&T.
• Understand procedures and specifications.
• Use basic inspection hand tools, such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
• Knowledge of CMM and Optical Inspection equipment.
• SAP knowledge.
• Inspect components using an open set up with minimal instructions.
• Perform tasks outside of quality, such as receiving material, packaging, and shipping coordination.
• Determine if the calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is current.
• Verify that you have put the measuring and test equipment (MTE) in proper condition, and that you have approved the inspection, examination, and test procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 or more years of experience
• Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5
• Qualification and certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6 (preferred, but can be certified after hire)
• Identify specialized education or training or experience.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,913 to $76,604 per year.
