Job summary

Transwest Mobile Truck Repair in Houston is hiring a Shop Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain cars, light-duty and diesel trucks. You’ll perform preventive maintenance, use scan tools and diagnostics, and document work clearly for service staff and customers.

You should have 1–2+ years hands-on automotive experience, strong diagnostic skills, ability to read wiring diagrams, and a clean driver's license.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years hands-on automotive or diesel technician experience.
• Strong diagnostic skills on engines, electrical, brakes, and major systems.
• Experience using scan tools and diagnostic software (e.g., Snap-on, Autel).
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of customer vehicles, including cars, light-duty trucks, and diesel trucks.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and component replacements.
• Troubleshoot engine, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, cooling, HVAC, and drivetrain systems.
• Use scan tools and diagnostic software to identify faults and verify repairs.
• Accurately document labor, parts used, and findings on work orders.
• Communicate repair needs and findings clearly with service staff and customers as needed.
• Deliver quality, timely repairs that keep customers coming back.
• Keep your work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and safe.
