A to Z Quality Fencing in Hartford, WI is seeking an energetic, entry-level shop assistant to support shop supervisors and project managers. You will learn manufacturing basics while helping with inventory, tooling, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Basic mechanical background and familiarity with hand tools.
• Welding and CNC experience preferred but not required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of materials experience/shop; willing to train.
• Physically capable of standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, and kneeling or crouching.

Responsibilities

• Good organization, keeping detailed records in and around the shop.
• Maintaining and retrieving inventory, lifting and moving inventory.
• Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, CNC, and skid loader if needed.
• Weekly preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, clean and maintain equipment.
• Cutting material down to proper length per job load guides.

A to Z Quality Fencing is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic shop assistant to join our growing team. In this entry level position, you will assist shop supervisors and project managers with a variety of tasks, while learning the basics of manufacturing including how to operate machinery. If you are willing to learn new skills, enjoy working with your hands, and get excited when hardware and tools go on sale, you could be an ideal fit for this shop assistant position. Primary Responsibilities

• Good organization skills, keeping detailed records of what is done in and around the shop
• Maintaining and retrieving inventory, lifting and moving inventory
• Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins
• Utilizes material handling equipment such as forklifts, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, disc grinder, punch press, CNC, and skid loader if/when needed
• Weekly preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, clean and maintain equipment
• Cutting material down to proper length per job load guide(s)
