Job summary

A to Z Quality Fencing in Hartford, WI is seeking an energetic, entry-level shop assistant to support shop supervisors and project managers. You will learn manufacturing basics while helping with inventory, tooling, and equipment operation.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to learn. This role offers hands-on training, weekly bonuses, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and insurance reimbursement after probation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Basic mechanical background and familiarity with hand tools.
Welding and CNC experience preferred but not required.
Minimum 1–2 years of materials experience/shop; willing to train.
Physically capable of standing, lifting up to 70 pounds, and kneeling or crouching.

Responsibilities

Good organization, keeping detailed records in and around the shop.
Maintaining and retrieving inventory, lifting and moving inventory.
Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins.
Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, band saw, cut off saw, belt sander, drill press, CNC, and skid loader if needed.
Weekly preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, clean and maintain equipment.
Cutting material down to proper length per job load guides.
