Job summary

Metalcrafters NC is seeking a dependable Shop Team Member to join our production team in Goldsboro, NC. The role supports fabrication, preparation, assembly, finishing, and movement of metal products, including stair systems, railings, platforms, gates, and specialty fabrication projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Shop Team Member

Metalcrafters NC is looking for a dependable and hardworking Shop Team Member to join our growing production team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the fabrication, preparation, assembly, finishing, and movement of miscellaneous metal products including custom stair systems, railings, platforms, gates, and specialty fabrication projects.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Assist with the fabrication, assembly, preparation, and finishing of miscellaneous metal products
• Support daily production activities to help meet shop schedules and customer deadlines
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, material handling equipment, and shop machinery as trained
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the facility
• Read and follow work instructions, shop drawings, and production requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
• Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards
• Utilize the Metalcrafters app for production tracking, accountability, and workflow updates
• Complete required production logs, checklists, and documentation accurately
• Assist team members across multiple departments as workload demands require
• Identify opportunities to improve shop organization, workflow efficiency, and safety practices
• Support daily, weekly, and monthly production goals
• Help maintain company equipment, tools, and workspaces in good condition

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License preferred
• Prior manufacturing, fabrication, construction, warehouse, or industrial experience preferred
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic shop math accurately
• Ability to learn and operate shop equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Self-driven, dependable, and motivated with a strong work ethic
• Ability to problem solve and adapt in a production-focused setting
• Organized and capable of managing multiple responsibilities throughout the day
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as needed
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment with changing priorities
• Ability to maintain required certifications including forklift, scissor lift, telehandler, combi lift, and related equipment certifications
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essentialMust successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening (with periodic updates as required)
• TIG, MIG, Stick welding experience required.
