Covenant Logistics is seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a Class 8 maintenance shop. You will develop the shop team, assign tasks, and ensure adherence to all policies and procedures while driving quality repairs.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities based on priority, equipment, and personnel skills.
• Perform team member evaluations and develop shop staff.
• Ensure policies, procedures and best practices are followed and applied.
• Open and close repair orders as needed and manage shop workload.
• Assign work to shop team members and order/stock inventory for the shop.
• Perform repairs on Class 8 equipment and verify work with gauges and tools.

Job description

The Shop Supervisor will manage day to day operations of a Class 8 maintenance shop. The role is responsible for working with all shop team members on their development within the shop and ensure all shop policies and procedures are being followed.

Responsibilities

• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel
• Perform team member evaluations based on company schedule
• Manage and develop shop team members
• Ensure shop policies and procedures are being followed
• Ensure best practices are being followed by shop team members for repairs
• Open and close repair orders as needed
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, or disciplinary measures
• Assign work to shop team members
• Order inventory for shop based on guidelines
• Receive and stock inventory for small parts room
• Perform repairs on class 8 equipment
• Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards or repair requirements

Candidates with more extensive or highly relevant experience may be considered toward the higher end of the overall pay band.

• Expected Pay Range: $56,139.20-$64,168.00
• Full Pay Range: $56.139.20-$88,833.00
• Pay Grade: 9
