Job summary

RK Industries in Aurora, CO is seeking a Shop Superintendent - Piping to lead the piping shop, drive productivity, and ensure top-quality fabrication and shipment of pipe assemblies. You will mentor crews, manage labor planning, and coordinate with project teams to deliver on schedule.

The role requires strong leadership, HVAC experience is a plus, and a track record of building accountable teams in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 7 years of pipe shop experience is required.
• Commercial HVAC production experience is a strong plus.
• Advanced knowledge and techniques within the piping shop function.
• Proven success leading complex projects and multiple crews.
• Deep expertise in labor planning, scheduling, productivity, quality, cost, and project execution.
• Strong judgement and decision-making in fast-moving environments.
• Track record of developing people and building accountable teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain controlled conditions across all shop production activities and drive continuous improvement in process, quality, and productivity.
• Read drawings like a story, catch scope changes early, flag shop drawing revisions, and keep the shop ahead of the schedule.
• Direct employees through bundling, staging, and complete shipment of materials, and coordinate delivery dates with trucking partners.
• Ensure shop labor costs and timecards are allocated accurately.
• Coordinate with the VDC team and detailing partners so work packages flow from VDC into production.
• Partner with Project Managers, field personnel, Schedulers, and Work Order Processors to deliver high-quality projects on time.
• Assist the Shop Operations Manager with hiring, evaluations, and terminations of shop personnel.

What You'll Lead

What You Bring

• 7 years of relevant pipe shop experience - this is non-negotiable.
• Commercial HVAC production is a strong plus.
