Job summary

G&W Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Shop Service Technician at our Savannah, GA branch.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of forklifts, aerial lifts and related powered equipment on customer sites and in our shop. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, maintaining internal combustion and electric-powered machines, and delivering a professional, safety-conscious service experience to customers.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Experience repairing forklifts or heavy equipment.
• Proficient with tablets and laptops for field diagnostics.

Job description

As a Shop Service Technician operating in our Savannah, GA branch you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing forklifts, aerial lifts, and other powered material handling equipment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Safely and independently troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Maintain and repair internal combustion and electric-powered equipment
• Provide communication and a positive experience to customers while onsite

Qualifications:

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic Systems
• Previous experience evaluating and repairing forklifts, heavy equipment, tractors, automobiles or similar pieces of equipment
• Must be computer literate, able to use tablet and a laptop for field diagnostics and internet resources
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, be able to pass preemployment drug screens, background checks, and physicals.
