Job Schedule: Full Time. Day Shift. Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Possible OT as needed. Schedule Subject to Change, Based on Business Needs.

Pay Range: Starting at $25.00/hour *based on experience

Job Summary:

SCA maintains a fleet of sweepers, dump trucks, flatbed trucks, pickup trucks, trailers, attenuators, and various other support equipment. The Mechanic position is a mid-level role with opportunities for advancement. Work includes preventative maintenance and light repairs of various chassis manufacturers and upfit configurations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain the cleanliness of trucks and support equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yard
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed
• Perform chassis preventative maintenance and light repairs to chassis and upfit components
• Assist senior mechanics with advanced repairs
• Change tires
• Complete basic inspections and repairs
• Work outdoors and in variable weather conditions

Job Requirements:

• 3-5 years of mechanic experience or recent trade school graduate
• Toolbox and basic hand tools
• Ability to perform standard chassis PM services (fluid and filter changes, greasing)
• Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs
• Willingness to assist higher-level mechanics under supervision
• Valid driver's license (preferred)
• Valid CDL A or B (preferred)
• Valid DOT Medical Card (required)
• DOT Physical (paid for by company)
• Experience with heavy equipment (preferred)
• Willingness to learn and positive attitude
• Use all required PPE and work safely
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours, including occasional overtime
• Work in noisy environments with exposure to vibration and fumes
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, and perform tasks like carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and standing

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of 2-8+ years of proven mechanic experience, depending on level:
• Level A: 8+ years
• Level B: 5-7 years
• Level C: 2-4 years

Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems

Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and measurement tools

Ability to follow procedures, manuals, and wiring schematics

Basic personal tools required

Commitment to safety regulations

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Physical stamina and good fitness

Positive attitude and reliable attendance

High school diploma preferred; vocational or apprenticeship certification a plus

ASE certifications preferred but not required
