Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a Shop Mechanic to support maintenance and repairs across multiple locations in Texas and neighboring states as needed. You will work with a range of equipment from cranes to small engines, performing diagnostics and repairs while prioritizing safety. CDL and own tools are required, with travel as needed.

Ability to work in diverse environments, including garages and field locations, is essential to keep equipment up and running in support of critical projects.

Qualifications

  • Must perform rigorous physical labor.
  • Requires 1–5 years of experience.
  • Must have or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must have own general tools.
  • Must learn hydraulics; diesel/gas engines; chassis/suspension; welding; small tool repair.

Responsibilities

  • Develop equipment across the region's cities/states.
  • Repair and maintain equipment ranging from cranes to chainsaws.
  • Work safely in garages and on-site in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment in multiple locations.
  • Operate with high-voltage safety awareness when required.

Job Description

The Shop Mechanic position works at various locations. The position may also be required to travel to another state depending on customer demands.

Essential Functions
  • Manage development of equipment in cities and states within region.
  • Knowledge of the mechanics of equipment ranging from as large as a crane to as small as a chain saw.
  • Work safely while performing repairs or maintenance in a garage and in the field in various weather conditions.
  • Troubleshooting in various localities regarding equipment repair, maintenance and deployment.
  • Frequently work around energized high voltage systems requiring skill and care to protect the lives of themselves and others while performing job.
  • Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
Other Requirements
  • Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
  • Requires 1-5 years of experience.
  • Must have or able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Must have own general tools.
  • Must be able to learn or perform work in the following disciplines:
    • Hydraulics
    • Diesel/gas engine – automatic
    • Chassis and suspension
    • Welding/metal fabrication
    • Small tool repair
  • Must know or be able to learn how to use a computer for:
    • Diagnostics
    • Equipment Inventory management
    • Work Orders
  • Certifications of Experiences in any of the following a plus:
    • ASE certification
    • Ford or international certifications
    • Altec/Telelect
    • Hydraulic maintenance
    • Utility or construction jobs
  • Able to work for extended periods throughout various locations, when required.
  • Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Willing to work over-time when requested.
