Job summary

Columbus Distributing Company is hiring a Shop Mechanic in Columbus, OH to service and repair a variety of fleet equipment. The role emphasizes mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and the use of repair tools and testing instruments.

The ideal candidate will lift heavy parts, work around commercial vehicles, and perform general maintenance. CDL A preferred, but permits considered; join a family-owned, safety-conscious team focused on employee development.

Qualifications

• Experience with gas and diesel engines, brakes, chassis and transmissions.
• Electrical wiring and motors experience required.
• Body repair, painting and welding of steel/aluminium.

Responsibilities

• Operate and repair fleet equipment with diagnostic focus.
• Use repair equipment and testing instruments for repairs.
• Identify and diagnose mechanical issues on vehicles.
• Perform quality repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Lift heavy truck parts and assist with general maintenance duties.

Job Location: Columbus 4949 - Columbus, OH 43229Salary Range: $28.51 - $30.42 HourlyColumbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation proudly distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers throughout Franklin County, Ohio. We are currently seeking a Shop Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills, experience using repair equipment and testing instruments, and the ability to perform quality repairs on a variety of fleet equipment. This position requires the ability to lift heavy truck parts, work in and around commercial vehicles, and assist with general maintenance duties as needed. A CDL Class A license is preferred; however, candidates who currently hold a CDL permit are encouraged to apply. • Be skilled in using equipment and test instruments.
• Show technical knowledge and mechanical ability, including diagnostic skills.
• Hold quality repair skills.
• Lift heavy truck parts of 100 pounds overhead.

• Perform and complete any duties of a lower classification.
