Fyda Freightliner Columbus is a Daimler Trucks North America authorized dealer of new Freightliner and Western Star trucks, and also an authorized dealer for Kalmar Ottawa yard trucks and Isuzu Commercial Trucks. We carry all current makes and models in the Freightliner, Western Star, Ottawa and Isuzu COE product portfolios. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.

Description

Assist with on-site preventive maintenance and repairs of diesel-powered commercial trucks. You will be tasked with traveling to vendors or customer locations to diagnose and make mechanical, hydraulic, engine, chassis, and electrical repairs on diesel powered commercial trucks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections
• Troubleshoot issues with diesel engines
• Troubleshoot issues with chassis components
• Determine parts & tools necessary for mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs
• Complete service paperwork while maintaining efficiency
• Maintain a safe clean work area, to include company vehicle
• Represent Fyda Freightliner in a Customer facing role
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in shop and on site mobile

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED certificate
• Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility
• Must be able to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening (Fyda Freightliner follows the National DOT guidelines and tests for marijuana)
• 2 Years verifiable experience with H.D. Diesel trucks or equipment
• Will train someone with automotive experience
• Manual dexterity, able to lift heavy objects
• Class B CDL a plus
• Annual DOT inspection experience required
• Ability to work in the elements when needed

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to walk, stand, kneel, crouch, reach and lift
• Physically fit and able to lift 100 pounds
